Emily C. Jaeger (she/her) is the Research Project Director for the Program for Research on Men’s Health. She has worked with Dr. Griffith and his affiliated programs since 2013 and enjoys being a part of research projects from their “aha lightbulb idea moment” all the way through their final dissemination. She oversees the administrative side of the PRMH but loves to utilize qualitative methods within community-based research projects as well. She earned her master’s in public health from the University of Iowa College of Public Health and her BS in Health Sciences from Drake University.

Kate Freeman, MA

Kate J. Freeman (she/her) is a Doctoral Candidate in Sociology at Case Western Reserve University and Senior Research Coordinator at the Program for Research on Men’s Health at the University of Pennsylvania. Kate is a gender scholar with expertise in masculinities, illness experiences, and social media. She uses qualitative methods to demonstrate how intersectional gendered inequalities shape men’s lived experiences, viewing her research as a way to uncover the invisible impacts of the societal expectations of gender while also seeking to reframe gender as a source of care, joy, and resistance.

Idris Robinson, DrPH
Research Project Manager
Idris T. Robinson (he/him/el) is the Research Project Manager for the Program for Research on Men’s Health at the University of Pennsylvania. Idris is a qualitative researcher, behavior change practitioner, and men’s health advocate. His work examines the intersectional factors that shape men’s health and translates that evidence into strategies that better engage men in their health and well-being. He has led qualitative, community-based social and behavioral change initiatives across more than 20 countries. He earned his doctorate and master’s in public health from Drexel University and a BS from Virginia State University.

Sammy S. Dhaliwal, PhD, MSc
PRMH Postdoctoral Researcher
Sammy Dhaliwal, PhD, MSc, is a clinical health psychologist and behavioral sleep medicine specialist. Her research examines perinatal sleep disturbance as a modifiable risk factor for mood disorder onset during reproductive transitions, with a growing emphasis on paternal postpartum mental health. She is currently developing a program of research investigating sleep disturbance in new fathers, integrating family systems and implementation science frameworks to understand how paternal sleep and mood interact within the broader family unit. She holds affiliations with the Sleep, Neurobiology and Psychopathology Lab in the Perelman School of Medicine, the Penn Center for Women’s Behavioral Wellness, and the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics at Wharton.

Emma Blackson, PhD, MPH, MS

Emma A. Blackson (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Program for Research on Men’s Health at the University of Pennsylvania. Emma is a social epidemiologist and population scientist specializing in carceral systems, structural determinants, and health equity. She uses advanced quantitative, spatial, and mixed methods to examine how carceral exposures and structural violence shape population health and longevity across the life course, aiming to advance health and social justice efforts. She earned her PhD in Social, Behavioral, and Population Sciences from Tulane University and holds an MPH and MS in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
